Optative sentence narration

গঠনপ্রনালী : Reporting speech + that + Reported speech এর subject + might + present verb + বাকি অংশ ।

Inverted comma এর পরিবর্তে that বসবে ।

Subject এর পরে Might/Could বসে ।

Reporting say/says/said/tell/tells/told এর পরিবর্তে wish/wishes/wished/pray/ prays/prayed বসে ।

(i) প্রার্থনা বোঝালে Pray/Prays/Prayed বসে । (ii) ইচ্ছা বোঝালে Wish/Wishes/Wished বসে ।

May, to me, to him ইত্যাদি উঠে যায় । Examples :
Direct : I said to him, "May you be happy."
Indirect : I wished that he might be happy.
Direct : Mother said to me, "May God bless you."
Indirect : Mother prayed that God might bless me.
Direct : The girl said, "Oh, had I the wings of a dove."
Indirect : The girl wished that she could have the wings of a dove.
