Exclamatory sentence narration

গঠনপ্রনালী : Reporting speech + that + Reported speech এর subject + past verb + বাকি অংশ ।

Inverted comma এর পরিবর্তে that বসে ।

Inverted comma এর পরিবর্তে that বসে ।

Reporting say/says/said/tell/tells/told এর পরিবর্তে Exclimed with joy, exclimed with sorrow ইত্যাদি বসে ।

Hurrah, Alas, Oh, Wow, What, How, to me, to him ইত্যাদি সাধারনত উঠে যায় ।

Exclamatory Sentence কে Indirect speech এ পরিবর্তন করতে হলে Alas, Hurrah ইত্যাদির অর্থ অনুসারে exclaim in grief, exclaim in joy, exclaim in wonder ইত্যাদি হয় । কিন্তু যেখানে exclamation এর প্রকৃতি সম্বন্ধে নিশ্চিত হওয়া যায় না, সেখানে Reporting verb কেবলমাত্র exclaim বা cry out করাই সমীচীন । Exclamatory sentence এর Reporting verb এর অন্যান্য form গুলি হলো Swear, Shout, Applaud ইত্যাদি । Example :
Direct : The boys said, "Hurrah ! We have won the game."
Indirect : The boys exclaimed in (with) joy that they had won the game.
Direct : He said to me, "Alas ! I could not save you."
Indirect : He exclaimed with grief that he could not save me.
Direct : He said, "What a nice bird it is !"
Indirect : He exclaimed in wonder that it was a very nice bird.
Direct : "Help help" shouted the woman.
Indirect : The woman shouted for help.
Direct : He said to me, "Happy Christmas."
Indirect : He wished me a happy Christmas.
Direct : He said, "Who knew that this would happen."
Indirect : He said that none knew that (that) would happen.
Direct : "So help me Heaven !" he cried, I'll never do so again.
Indirect : He prayed to Heaven to help him and resolved not to do again.
