Narration assertive sentence

গঠনপ্রনালী : Reporting speech + that + Reported speech.

Inverted Comma এর পরিবর্তে that হবে । যেমন :
Direct : She said, "I do it".
Indirect : She said that she did it.

Reporting verbটি Present বা Future হলে Reported verbটির কোন পরিবর্তন হয় না । যেমন :
Direct : He says, "I am busy".(Present tense)
Indirect : He says that he is busy.(Present tense)

Reported Speech অর্থাৎ বক্তব্যটি যদি অভ্যাসগত বা চিরসত্য হয় তাহলে Tense এর কোন পরিবর্তন হয় না । যেমন :
Direct : The teacher said, "the sun rises in the east". (চিরসত্য)
Indirect : The teacher said that the sun rises in the east.

Reporting speech এ Object না থাকলে Say/Says/Said এবং Object থাকলে Tell/Tells/Told হবে । Say এর পরে To বসে কিন্তু Tell এর পরে To বসে না । যেমন :
Direct : He says, "I am playing cricket".(No object)
Indirect : He says that he is playing cricket.
Direct : Kamal said to him, "You should be more careful".(Object)
Indirect : Kamal told him that he should be more careful.

সাধারনত Must, Ought to এবং Should এর মতো Modal auxiliary গুলোর কোন পরিবর্তন হয় না । যদিও কখনো কখনো Must এর জায়গায় Had to এবং Should এর জায়গায় Would বসে । যেমন :
Direct : He said, "we ought to go".
Indirect : He said that they ought to go.
Direct : She said, "we must go".
Indirect : She said that they must go/had to go.

Reported speech এ it থাকলে তার কোন পরিবর্তন হবে না । যেমন :
Direct : He said to me, "you can not do it thus".
Indirect : He told me that I could not do it that way.
